1:1 Early Years Teaching Assistant job summary
Are you kind, patient, and passionate about helping every child reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and inclusive team at Badbury Park Primary School, providing one-to-one support for a named child with additional needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a genuine difference — supporting a child’s learning, confidence and wellbeing each day.
As part of this role, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning and support activities that meet the child’s individual needs. You’ll help them engage in lessons, support physical needs and transitions, and build positive relationships with their peers. Working collaboratively with parents, teachers and external professionals, you’ll play an important role in creating a consistent and nurturing environment in which the child can thrive. Every small step forward will be a shared success, and your encouragement will make all the difference. You will receive training to help you feel confident and well-prepared in your role and be part of a friendly, supportive team that values collaboration, wellbeing and professional growth.
Our free school is part of The Blue Kite Academy Trust, a growing family of primary schools based in Swindon who offer excellent CPD and career opportunities, a competitive salary with scope for progression, a commitment to nationally agreed pay and terms, an excellent pension scheme, free car parking and free staff health and well-being support.
Badbury Park has a great staff team who are supportive, passionate, and caring. Our aim is to work collaboratively together to nurture and develop every child through carefully planned lessons. We believe in teaching skills, sharing knowledge, and building special memories that children will take with them through the rest of their lives.
The successful applicant will:
- Be passionate about inclusive practice
- Be empathetic in nature and maintain a calm approach
- Have experience of working in an Early Years setting and hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Have experience of zones of regulation
- Have experience of working with interventions
- Have a trauma informed approach to supporting children
- Be fun, creative and enthusiastic with a love for outdoor learning
