What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you have the skills, passion and creativity to engage children and help them to achieve their full potential?
We are looking to appoint a calm, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will be able to offer excellent support to a Year 1 child with an Education, Health and Care Plan. You will be working with a highly supportive, dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants. We are looking for a committed team player who is flexible, positive, and has a hands-on approach to developing children’s learning.
The position is for 25 hours per week, 5 days per week, based on 39 weeks per year. The position is a temporary contract linked to a named child, pending the child’s needs.
Ideally, the successful candidate will:
- Have EYFS/primary school experience of working alongside pupils with additional needs
- Have relevant experience of child development and early reading (phonics)
- demonstrate that they can use their own initiative at times
- be able to support children through the use of positive behaviour strategies
- be able to take a lead and support with intimate care, as and when provided
- have excellent communication skills
- be resilient and form strong, positive relationships with children, staff and parents
- be an enthusiastic role model.
