1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) job summary

The posts will include:

Assisting a class teacher with classroom support

Supporting and delivering a range of catch-up interventions to groups of children or individuals

Record-keeping for interventions

Supporting children with additional needs

Communicating with staff and outside professionals around children’s needs and progress

Leading activities outside at break time and lunchtime

The successful candidates will:

be nurturing and supportive towards all the children in their care

be able to work as part of a team, sharing excellent practice and learning from others

be committed to working in partnership with staff, parents and children

have excellent interpersonal skills

have a genuine aspiration in wanting the best outcome for all children

have an ability to work independently with small groups of children
