Everyone who works at Hillside Avenue Primary and Nursery School understands the importance of meeting individual needs. For someone working as a 1:1 SEND classroom assistant with a specific pupil this means that they understand what each child needs to be able to flourish in their primary education, and then they do what is required to help the child make progress. Whilst this can sometimes be challenging, it is also rewarding and because we work in education, we are always seeking to learn and improve our practice. As a 1:1 SEND classroom assistant you would be more focused on the needs of one or two children with identified special educational needs or disabilities. This role may be based in class or in breakout spaces around the school and will require a flexible approach to be able to meet the needs of the child or children that you are working with.

Hillside Avenue Primary and Nursery School is a successful and popular school in Thorpe St Andrew, to the East of Norwich. We have high expectations for everyone in our school, making use of staff skills and experience, resources, technology and our extensive school site to fulfil our vision to enable children to be ‘the best they can be’.
