What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to appoint a Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEND LSA) to start as soon as possible on a part-time basis working 20 hours per week term time only. The role is offered on fixed term contract for 1 year. The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the school and involves supporting children with a variety of needs including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s). We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who have a background in Speech and Language, ADHD, ACMH and Autism.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 9am -1pm
- term time only
Successful candidates should have:
- Experience of working with and caring for children
- Experience of working with children with special educational needs.
- High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
- Enthusiasm and dedication to developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching, mentoring and guidance
- A commitment to promoting and fostering good relationships between children and with parents and colleagues
You should:
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff
- The ability to relate in a firm and friendly way with a wide range of personalities
- The ability to use initiative
- Be willing to undertake direction and guidance
- Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Be able to work as part of a team
