1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant job summary

We have a rare opportunity to appoint a highly motivated person to join our successful team as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This post suits skilled people who are experienced or skilled people who want to learn.

We are looking for a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of a child (or a group of children) with Special Educational Needs (e.g: Autism) in Early Years or Key Stage 1. This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented individual to work with a child one to one and make a real difference. Candidates will need to:

  • Have some experience or knowledge of working with children or individuals with Special Educational Needs
  • Be able to communicate well with pupils, colleagues and parents
  • Contribute ideas to help the child succeed and make progress
  • Have patience and calmness and be proactive in dealing with challenges

Although this position is fixed term, there is the possibility that this will be made permanent.

Hours: 20.25 hours per week. Monday-Wednesday 8.30am - 3.45pm (term-time only).
