1:1 Special Needs Learning Assistant (EY 30 hours) job summary
1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (30 hours)
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive team to work on a 1:1 basis, supporting a child with Autism who has been identified as requiring significant additional support. You will be supporting an effective learning and teaching environment through inclusive practice in the early years.
Contract: Full time (fixed term, attached to a child)
Hours: 30 hours a week. Monday- Friday. Term time only.
Salary: Level 2B point 3 to 5 (£14692 to £15566)

The Role
The successful candidate will be working with a pupil, diagnosed with Autism in Early Years, on a 1:1 basis, to help them access the curriculum and thrive and learn in line with their Education, Health Care Plans (EHCP).
You will play a crucial role in supporting their learning and integration within the rest of the class/group. It is preferable that you have previous experience working with pupils who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder, significant communication needs and challenging behaviour, in order to ensure that you have the knowledge required to safeguard the pupil appropriately. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEACCH/SCERTS would be desirable, however, the candidate must be willing to train in these strategies if they have no experience of these particular interventions.
