1 :1 Teaching Assistant and MDSA
Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a member of staff to perform the roles of both a part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant and Mid-day Supervisory Assistant, based at Ivy Lane School. The appointment will be fixed-term due to funding for a named child and the contract (for both roles) will end when he/she leaves Ivy Lane Primary School or no longer needs support.
Required to start: as soon as possible after interview
Hours:
1:1 TA – 17.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 12.00noon, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding TD days).
MDSA - 5 hours per week, 12.00noon and 1.00pm Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding TD days).
Salary range:
1 :1 TA - Salary D4- D6 (depending on experience) - £23,114 - £23,893 pro rata, per annum (actual salary £9162 – £9471 per annum)
MDSA – Salary B2 - £22,366 pro rata, per annum (actual salary £2533 per annum)
Both roles are interlinked so if the employee resigns from one, they will have to resign from the other one at the same time.

We are looking to appoint a new member to join our dedicated staff team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant and MDSA at Ivy Lane Primary School.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you must be committed and flexible, be able to support groups and individual children with their learning. The role requires you to support the learning of specific pupils with additional educational needs either within the classrooms or 1:1, or in small groups. Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as being able to use your own initiative. The successful candidates will need excellent communication and liaison skills and will be closely supported by teachers.
Duties will include:
Supporting pupils learning, either in groups in the classroom or through 1:1 work with specific children with additional needs. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil/s
Supporting pupils self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required
Supporting the teacher/s
Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the English and Mathematics curriculum along with other aspects of both the National Curriculum and the enhanced curriculum offered by the school.
Support the school e.g. assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids.
As well as classroom support, you will be required to work with children with specific needs.
The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This will involve undertaking annual Safeguard training and using school reporting systems for any Safeguard concerns.
