1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary

We are a one form entry combined Church of England School set in the heart of Chesham Bois village serving a wider community that reaches out into Amersham and Chesham.

Chesham Bois is a unique school, with fantastic children, supportive parents and a dedicated team of staff and governors.  We are a friendly team with teachers, teaching assistants and support staff all working together for the benefit of the children.

We are looking for an enthusiastic  1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with  a KS1 child  to support  their learning and medical needs.

The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate pupils and have high expectations for the children in their care. 

As a Teaching Assistant you must be committed and flexible, be able to support groups and individual children with their learning.  Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as being able to use your own initiative.  The  successful candidate will need excellent communication and liaison skills and will be closely supported by a class teacher and wider team.

Duties will include:

• Supporting a child 1:1 with their learning and medical needs
• Supporting the  delivery of the curriculum to the class and small groups 
• Supporting the teacher with setting up the classroom and teaching aids
• Some break time and lunch time  supervision will be required
