1:1 Teaching Assistant

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a part-time 1 :1 Teaching Assistant to support a named child on a 1:1 basis, based at Corsham Primary School (Broadwood site - Broadwood Avenue, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 0LX ).

1:1 Teaching Assistant – 15 hours per week, 8.45am – 12.30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 38 weeks per year (term time only, excluding TD Days).

Salary range: D4 £23,114 pro rata, actual salary - £7853 per annum

Start date: 5th November 2024

End date: 4th April 2025

Corsham Primary School is located in the picturesque Wiltshire market town of Corsham, near Bath, and is arranged over two sites located at either side of the town. Pound Pill site offers 14 classes and the Broadwood site houses 10 classes, both supporting children from Reception to Year 6. As a Teaching Assistant you must be committed and flexible, be able to support groups and individual children with their learning. Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as being able to use your own initiative. The successful candidates will need excellent communication and liaison skills and will be closely supported by a class teacher and wider team.

Duties will include:

Supporting a pupil learning 1:1 work. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil.

Supporting pupils self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development

Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required

Supporting the Teacher/s

Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the English and Mathematics curriculum along with other aspects of both the National Curriculum and the enhanced curriculum offered by the school.

Support the schoole.g.assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids.

The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This will involve undertaking annual Safeguard training and using school reporting systems for any Safeguard concerns.
