1-1 Teaching Assistant Level 2 job summary

Teaching Assistant Level 2 required from September 2022 to support a Reception Year pupil who has additional needs.   

25 hours per week as follows : 8.45am – 2pm, including a 15minute lunchbreak  Term-Time Only

This position is funded as per the pupil’s EHCP

Support required for :-

Intimate Care (toileting)
Communication and Interaction needs (speech and language), including Makaton and use of other visual methods of communication
1:1 support to access learning
Lunchtime support – eating and playtime
Sensory breaks
Liaison with professional services ie Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language.

Experience of SEN support is essential.  Experience of EYFS (Early Years) support would be an advantage. Training will be provided for other aspects ie Makaton where required.  Candidates should possess good literacy and numeracy skills. 

The successful candidate will be required to:

Have a good standard in literacy and numeracy.
Have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and outside agencies.   
Have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience within a school.

We will provide the successful candidate with:-

A programme of training, as required
A friendly and dedicated staff team
Ongoing support from health professionals such as Occupational Therapy and ASET
