1-1 Teaching Assistant job summary
We are currently looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs at Port Isaac Academy for 9 hours a week. The ideal candidate will play a proactive role in meeting the child’s educational, social, and physical needs. Experience in supporting communication and language, cognition and learning, and providing intimate care is essential.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, family and wider school team to deliver high-quality, individualised support throughout the school day. This includes facilitating engagement in both bespoke activities and class activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the child feels safe, included, and able to thrive. A calm, patient and positive approach is vital.
