1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary
Southbroom St James Academy is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and complex needs. This role also includes Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) duties.Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support to meet the child’s learning, social and emotional needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies and interventions.
- Assist with classroom activities and promote inclusion.
- Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime as part of MDSA duties.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable).
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to learning.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
