1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary
West Butterwick C of E Primary School – come and work in our lovely small ‘outstanding’ village school (only 15 mins drive from Scunthorpe / 30 mins drive from Doncaster and Gainsborough)
Teaching Assistant for two pupils with additional needs (EHCP funded) (one Y2 and one Y4) required to start as soon as possible
21.75 hrs hours per week Mon – Friday Term Time only
Mon – Thurs: 9.15a.m. - 3.00p.m.
Fri: 9.15a.m. - 12.00p.m.
Special Educational Needs (EHCP) identified in the following areas :- Sensory and Physical, Communication and Interaction, Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Cognition and Learning.
Support required for :-
Paired / small group learning
Fine motor skills
Maths and English interventions
LEGO therapy
Recognising feelings and emotions
Structured discussions / conversations
Circle Time activities
Movement and sensory breaks
Occupational Therapy exercises
Morning break-time supervision
The successful candidate should:-
- have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience within a school
- possess literacy and numeracy skills to a high standard
-have experience of Key Stage 2 support
-have experience of SEN support / interventions (this is essential)
-have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and outside agencies
-support and uphold our Church School Distinctiveness / Christian ethos
-have strong IT / computing skills and knowledge
