1-2-1 Teaching Assistants job summary

We are looking for dedicated professionals to support a child with additional needs and we are flexible with the days of the week and hours, this could be mornings or afternoons. Whether you can offer mornings, afternoons, or specific days, we’re happy to work with you to create a manageable and rewarding schedule. This is a fantastic chance to make a real difference in a child’s life while working as part of a collaborative and enthusiastic team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us and take on this highly desired role. The role will include:

Assisting teaching staff to prepare classrooms for lessons and activities.

Assisting with Academy trips, events and activities.

Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by teaching staff.

Supervising pupils’ work and offering support where necessary.

Providing administrative and clerical support to teaching staff and other TAs regarding lesson planning and resources.

Monitoring the needs and behaviour of pupils, and reporting these to teaching staff where appropriate.

Undertaking pupil record keeping as requested, e.g. taking registers.

Assisting teaching staff and other TAs with creating and maintaining displays throughout the school.

Establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with pupils’ parents and deliver pastoral support as required.

Being a good role model to pupils in terms of behaviour and attitude.

The successful candidate will have:

Training or experience in working with children in a school environment would be advantageous and recent classroom teaching assistant experience would offer a significant advantage.

NVQ2 or above would be an advantage, but not essential.

Grade C or above at GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths would be desirable.
