1 x Class Teacher & 1 x Interventions Teacher job summary
We are looking for two excellent teachers with high expectations of themselves and children, fantastic classroom management skills and the desire to contribute fully to the wider life of the school. The roles are to start ASAP and are fixed term until the end of the 22-23 school year.
We include a job description for a class teacher/interventions teacher which details key responsibilities of the post. To be clear, we are looking for one full time class teacher who will be responsible for a class of children, and one full time interventions teacher who will be responsible for liaising with colleagues across two year groups in order to provide high quality learning opportunities for classes or groups of pupils.
The first priority for all teachers is to provide quality first teaching to meet the needs of all children in their class or intervention group. Year team members work together to shape and improve the curriculum based on the needs of the year group. Teachers are responsible for the pastoral and academic progress of each child in their class/group, making use of the school’s systems for assessment and tracking pupil progress. Year groups meet weekly to share ideas, pass on relevant information and review practice. Working as a team, sharing resources and supporting each other are key elements of working in the year group. Year teams also work collaboratively to carefully consider the interventions which are appropriate for the children in their year group, communicating this accurately to all staff.
Responsibilities include (depending on post) covering for class teachers so that they can deliver interventions to groups of children; leading interventions groups as agreed with year teams; the pastoral role of being a class teacher; working with a learning support assistant on occasions; contributing to the fuller life of the school; supporting school policies on behaviour and attendance.
