1st Line IT Technician job summary

1ST LINE TECHNICIAN VACANCY AT SWAVESEY VILLAGE COLLEGE

Salary: Meridian Trust, Grade 4, Point 3 - Point 5 (£22,737 - £23,500)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Based at Swavesey Village College

Please note, to be considered for this role you must have a drivers license.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team as a 1st Line IT Technician with Meridian Trust. This key role will provide high quality service in response to IT Tickets from employees and schools, and responsibility for the quality of first line support to IT problems and queries from staff.

The Opportunity

  • Provide IT support to users and customers contacting our helpdesk. Ensure all jobs are logged within the Helpdesk and to provide remote support to telephone users.
  • Ensure that the IT equipment is fully functioning and perform regular maintenance on ICT equipment.
  • Set up new machines, swapping faulty devices, carry out fault-finding, repair equipment where possible and organise external repairs where necessary.
  • Travel to our partner schools for IT patch visits and to assist our other Academy teams where required.

The ideal candidate

  • Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • IT Qualifications or equivalent qualifications
  • Good knowledge and experience of network fault finding.
  • Working knowledge of a range of software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Windows)
  • Good knowledge of PC hardware
  • Professional conduct with colleagues and customers
