What skills and experience we're looking for

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

A clear understanding and experience of support required by families withcomplex and multiple needs and proven ability to asses family situations,develop individual packages of support and translate them into effective integrated plans

Ability to communicate and operate at a high level of understanding andcompetence

A good knowledge and understanding of the risk factors associated withfamily breakdown and difficulties

Well-developed emotional intelligence skills

Demonstrable experience in the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead in an Education Setting

Experience of working with a range of issues involved such as substancemisuse, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, school exclusion, SEN andoffending behaviour

Ability to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach

Excellent communication and relationship building skills and a willingness towork independently and as part of a team

Full driving licence, vehicle business insurance, and access to a roadworthy vehicle that conforms to legislative requirements for work purposes.

Able to work with conflicting priorities

Experience of working successfully with young people

What the school offers its staff

We are looking for honest, calm and kind practitioners to join our Trust and have the following vacancies for two Inclusion and Safeguarding Officers. One of the posts will be based in Newcastle and one in our Sunderland school.

Our Inclusion and Safeguarding Officers specialise in working and supporting young learners with additional needs, including the review and support of EHCP’s. This is an important role working within Trinity Academy Newcastle Trust, taking the lead in ensuring that all learners receive safe and inclusive education within their education in order to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for experienced Inclusion and Safeguarding Officers who will promote the vision, ethos and policies of the school and will support the strategic direction and development in the area of Safeguarding. Trinity Academy Trust recently received an ‘exceptional’ audit report for Safeguarding through the Safeguarding Alliance. You will be part of a team that will drive the future direction of Safeguarding and Inclusion.
