Parkfield School, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with intimate care to join the Academy team to start in September 2022.

FTE Salary Range: Grade 3 SCP 4-6, £19,264 to £20,043 per annum, pro rata
Actual Salary: £14,993.36 - £15,599.67
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st August 2023, part time; term-time (39 weeks).
Contract Hours: 32.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:15 am – 3:15 pm

About the role
To assist in the support and inclusion of young people with a wide range of special educational needs within the school. The age range of pupils in the school is from 4 to 16 years. This role will be supporting identified children within KS1.

To support the development of pupils’ emotional literacy and social skills through specific and targeted intervention.

To support pupils’ academic and social communication needs and to support positive social and emotional wellbeing, enabling them to engage in learning in and out of the school environment.

This role will include assisting a pupil with their intimate care needs, in line with the Trust Inti-mate Care Policy.

About the successful candidate
The position of LSA is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and compassionate individual to support in lessons, deliver interventions and support our learners in a wide range of subjects across KS1.

Key skills:
• To have a good knowledge and understanding of a range of special educational needs including social communication needs.
• To have knowledge and understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive needs, that affect children and young people’s development.
• Excellent listening skills
• An ability to build strong, trusting relationships
• To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning
• Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities
• To use positive and personalised behaviour management strategies
