Millbay Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional Classroom Technician to join the Health & Wellbeing Faculty of the school.

FTE Salary Range: £27,803 to £30,296 (Grade E, PT15-20) per annum pro rata

Actual Salary: £21,733 - £23,681 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks per annum)

Contract Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting a Classroom Technician to join our team in the Health & Wellbeing Faculty who will complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for the effective running of support systems for the school. This will include the PE and Food Technology departments.

Your duties will include:

  • Support students and assisting the department to help develop curriculum provision
  • Support a variety of teaching activities
  • Responsibility for management of curriculum stock levels and resources
  • Setting up, checking and maintaining equipment
  • Providing advise to staff and students of the safe operation of equipment

About the successful candidate

You will understand the importance of "soft skill" development as a means of developing the whole individual alongside a strong drive for academic excellence.

In addition, you will need:

  • NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline
  • Specialist background in one or more of the following - Physical Education or Sports; Food Technology, Nutrition or Catering; Design & Technology; Engineering
  • Full UK Driving Licence as the role includes driving the school minibus (full training will be given for this)
