FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade E Pts 15 - 20, £29,093 rising to a maximum of £31,586 per annum, pro rata
Actual Salary Range: £22,741 rising to a maximum of £24,690 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, term time only (39 weeks per year)
Contract Hours: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday
About the RoleMillbay Academy is seeking a Classroom Technician – Creative Industries to play a key role in supporting our vibrant and growing department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Art, Photography, Design & Technology, Music, and related subjects, ensuring students have access to high-quality resources and hands-on learning experiences. You will be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining specialist equipment, and assisting teachers and students in creative and technical tasks. This role is particularly exciting at a time when the Creative Industries are thriving nationally and in Plymouth, and we are looking for a technician who is eager to support and enhance this momentum within our school.
About the Successful Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with experience in at least one creative or technical discipline, such as Art, Design & Technology, Photography, or Music. You will have a strong practical understanding of specialist equipment, health and safety procedures, and the ability to assist both students and staff in creative learning environments. A passion for the Creative Industries and a desire to support their growth within education is essential. If you are hands-on, solution-focused, and keen to be part of an inspiring team shaping the future of creative education in Plymouth, we would love to hear from you.
