2ic of Geography job summary
We are seeking an outstanding 2ic of Geography to work within our high performing Academy. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher ready to take on additional responsibilities.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will be:
To support the Head of Geography to raise standards of student attainment and achievement within Geography and to monitor and support student progress
To develop and enhance the teaching practice of other teachers in the subject area.
To help provide a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying Geography
To support the management of staff within the department and physical resources.
To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
A good Honours degree (or equivalent)
Postgraduate teaching qualification
Evidence of successful teaching experience
Evidence of consistently good teaching and learning
The ability to use ICT effectively to engage students
An understanding of how to use assessment to inform planning for good teaching and learning
The ability to differentiate materials to meet the needs of learners
Evidence of pastoral experience
An interest in the wider curriculum
