What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Second in Charge of Science/Deputy Head of Science to join our thriving, well-resourced, and high-performing Science Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and forward-thinking educator to take a leading role in driving the quality of education in Science and supporting the strategic development of the curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The ability to teach A-Level Chemistry is essential.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department to oversee curriculum planning, enhance teaching and learning, and support progress and attainment across the department. This role is ideal for a committed professional with at least two years’ teaching experience who has demonstrated impact in their current post.

You will be expected to teach your specialism to A-Level and contribute to the teaching of all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and 4, where required. You will take an active role in curriculum innovation, assessment design, and the coaching and development of colleagues. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who leads by example, sets high expectations, and inspires pupils to develop a lasting curiosity and enthusiasm for Science—both in and beyond the classroom.
