What skills and experience we're looking for

GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent

Qualified Teacher Status

Degree in a relevant subject

Proven success in improving student outcomes

Proven successful mentoring/coaching of colleagues

Ability to assess and record the progress of students’ learning

Knowledge of current education legislation, Ofsted framework and best practice

Knowledge of a creative range of pedagogic approaches to delivering your subject

Evidence of continuous professional development

Ability to support staff and students in maintaining high standards

Support the work of colleagues and promote staff development and well being, with an understanding of its relevance to performance

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, parents and students management

DSLV E-ACT Secondary Academy is looking to recruit a Second in English with proven track records of delivering high standards in educational for pupils.

We are interested to hear from a Second in English who shares the same vision of ‘opening minds, opening doors’ for all our pupils. As part of E-ACT, we are passionate about ensuring all pupils are educated to a high standard and experience outstanding opportunities, no matter their background.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar setting with the ability to demonstrate how their skills have made a difference in pupil achievement and staff development. Our Second in English needs to be dynamic and driven to achieve high standards for our Academy, not only for our pupils and staff, but for our parents and local community.

Experience

  • An exceptional record of being a Second in English, or thinking of taking the next step
  • Promote high standards of behaviour based on fairness and mutual respect
  • Have significant experience of teaching
  • Skills and experience to establish high standards of teaching
  • Knowledge and expertise to build on established processes and systems
