What skills and experience we're looking for

Larkmead School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and inspiring Second in Technology Faculty to start at either Easter 2023 or September 2023. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join and help lead our thriving Technology team. In the first instance we are seeking to appoint a teacher to this role to join the team for an Easter start.In the event of there being no suitable external candidates within this recruitment period, we will advertise the position again to start in September.

What the school offers its staff

The Technology Faculty at Larkmead School is an experienced and welcoming group of professionals. There is a high level of peer support and collaboration to reflect the high level of experience within the team. The Head and Second in the faculty work closely together to determine the strategic direction, with a timetabled meeting once a fortnight to ensure time is given to this. .

The successful applicant will be able to engage and inspire our learners to become confident and creative individuals with a passion for Design and Technology. Applicants will teach ideally any combination from Resistant Materials, Electronics & Mechanisms, Graphic Products at GCSE and be required to teach Product Design at A Level.

It will be essential for the successful applicant to demonstrate the capacity, and experience, to make a real contribution to the work of this supportive and collaborative faculty. Faculty staff form a hardworking and professional team, who have a relentless focus on ensuring all students have a wide ranging and enjoyable experience within the faculty. Technology is a very popular option choice and students achieve outstanding results at both KS4 and KS5.The leadership of the Second in Technology is integral to the success of the faculty, and we are looking for someone with the drive and energy to make a sustained difference to the students in our community
