Job summary

Lead, manage and develop A-level Media Studies, support teachers and share best practice.

Track and monitor student progress in Media Studies and provide support and intervention as necessary.

Ensure that Media Studies work is regularly assessed, diagnostic and formative feedback is provided.

Routinely monitor the quality of teaching in Media Studies through lesson observations, work sampling and drop-ins, and set targets for development.

Ensure that Media Studies reports are of a high quality, guidelines are adhered to and deadlines met.

Analyse and evaluate Media Studies performance and produce an annual exams analysis.

Produce an annual Media Studies CPD plan aligned to the school improvement plan.

Essential educational requirements

Good honours degree or equivalent in English

Essential qualifications

QTS or equivalent

Essential skills and experience

Recent teaching experience across the age and ability range in the secondary sector.

Experience of long-term and medium-term planning for classes.

Development of schemes of work to challenge and enrich students.

Ability to use data to identify individuals or groups for additional support.

A proven track record of success in different key stages.

Evidence of teaching matched to individuals and groups.

Capacity to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils of all abilities to achieve the highest standards.

Flexibility and the ability to take the initiative.
