A Level Psychology and Sociology Teacher (Maternity Cover) job summary

Salary Range: Main Scale to Upper - Depending on experience

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified, enthusiastic teacher to join a popular and dynamic school to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be required to teach A Level Psychology and Sociology to students in Years 12 and 13. The Teacher of Social Sciences will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic, with a flair for creativity.

Psychology and Sociology is taught at Key Stage 5 only, following the AQA exam board. It is a popular subject at A Level with students and is well-established within the Sixth Form.

Academic standards in Social Sciences are good. However, within the selective intake the ability range of students is broad and the department has a strong focus on the monitoring and tracking progress to ensure there is support for students to achieve the highest grades of which they are capable
