A Nurture Science Teacher (KS3) job summary

The Ambition Community Trust is looking for a dynamic and passionate nurture teacher for Meade Hill School. The successful candidate must have excellent subject knowledge and be able to deliver outstanding science lessons to pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. They will be responsible for the co-ordination of science at Meade Hill School, whilst working collaboratively with other science specialists across the Trust, having a resolve to make a real difference to our pupils and setting a level of challenge, for all abilities, across Key Stage 3. In addition, the role involves delivering aspects of the emotional curriculum and PSHCE to an assigned nurture form group. As Meade Hill is a small school, there may be a need to deliver other subjects, maths would be desirable.


The right candidate will have:

·       A detailed knowledge of the curriculum and its means of delivery.

·       High standards of communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Teach science and possibly maths to a nurture group and across KS3, with a vision to develop the curriculum to further meet the needs of our learners
  • Have an excellent understanding of assessment in science and maths, using this to improve outcomes for all learners
  • Develop high interest activities, to make science and maths come alive to this SEMH cohort
  • Understand the importance of high-quality planning, preparation and marking, to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils
