Academic Mentors - Mathematics & Science job summary
Are you an aspiring Maths or Science teacher who is looking to gain some essential classroom experience and would like to consider a role as a Maths or Science Academic Mentor as the next progression for you at this stage of your career?
We are a fantastic secondary school looking to appoint as soon as possible recent graduates to work as an Academic Mentor within our vibrant Mathematics or Science Faculties. If you have recently graduated with a Mathematics or Science related degree and are now looking to make further progress towards your career goals… then we would love to hear from you.
As an Academic Mentor you will play a key role in supporting pupils that may have encountered barriers to learning by delivering quality tuition sessions to small groups.
We are looking for passionate, driven and caring people to support those whose education has been most disrupted by the pandemic. You will play a key role in enabling students in the most disadvantaged areas to build their confidence and access targeted support whilst developing skills and experience in school for your future career.
You will be employed by the school on a full time fixed term contract until August 2023 and you are required to successfully complete a training programme with the National Tutoring Programme prior to the start date. You will additionally benefit from a custom program of online training via Liverpool Hope University. This will be one week of training for qualified teachers and two weeks for Graduates.

Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England.
The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017. More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson Trust.
The school is the official Liverpool F.C. Academy Education Centre in Merseyside for under-18 players to be educated. Notable former pupils from the academy include Raheem Sterling and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The school has recently partnered with FA FE to strengthen post-16 education for the players. FE FA is owned and run by Robbie Fowler, former Liverpool and England footballer.
In addition to Liverpool FC, it has formal partnerships with Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Liverpool John Moores University and University of Leeds.
