Academy Administrator, Attendance and Admissions Lead job summary

Full time, 37 hours per week, term time only plus two weeks in the school holidays.

Monday to Thursday: 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3:30pm with 30 minutes lunch break each day.

Pro-rata actual salary: £17,561.62 to £18,716.52 per annum. ​​​​​​​

We have an exceptional opportunity for a friendly and highly organised person to join our dynamic and busy office team. Our perfect candidate should have previous experience of a school environment, be enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated and have the capacity for hard work and a desire to work along- side our skilled administrative team.

The role involves working closely with teachers, parents, the senior leadership team, safeguarding officer and outside agencies to encourage excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high and sustained levels of academy attendance. You will also be obtaining explanations for unexplained pupil absences and registering children who are late to school.

You will monitor closely children who take leave of absence during term time and work in conjunction with our inclusion team.

Additionally, you will process new admissions to the school and administer school transfers and the new Reception intake on an annual basis.  You will also be the lead for DfE Census returns.

You will be supporting the wider administration team by completing a wide variety of tasks, ranging from answering the telephone to dealing with complex queries from parents. You will have a kind and personable approach to pupils, staff and external stakeholders and a have a great telephone manner.

The ability to work effectively with pupils and their parents/carers is essential. Experience of working with SIMS would be advantageous and a good level of ICT skills is essential.

You will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic and highly motived team and will undertake a wide range of duties associated with a busy school office. You will be the a first point of contact for parents and visitors to the school and will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels and have a welcoming, helpful manner. The duties of the post are varied, so a high level of flexibility is required.

The successful candidate will undertake some reception duties, answer routine telephone calls, face-to face enquires and sign in visitors, assist with pupil welfare duties, liaising with both parents and stakeholders.
