What skills and experience we're looking for
Misbourne is a vibrant and welcoming school with great students and a dedicated team of teaching and support staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a part time BACP accredited Academy Counsellor. We firmly believe that our staff are our best asset and as such, see this as an important role that will play a central part in the continued growth, development and success of our Academy.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of counselling support to all students and therefore provide a caring and supportive environment where such concerns may be explored, thereby promoting positive mental and emotional health at The Misbourne.
Candidates should be BACP accredited and educated to degree level or possess equivalent professional experience. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
The ability to communicate effectively and to develop good relationships with staff, management and outside agencies.
The ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and autonomy.
To be proactive and efficient in managing workload
Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
Commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
ICT competency
We are an 11-18 Academy in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in the heart of the Chilterns. We have nearly 1100 students on roll including a successful and growing Sixth Form.
