What skills and experience we're looking for

We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity for an Academy Lead for Reading and Literacy, with English specialism to join our team at Plympton Academy.

You will be responsible for strategically leading the school improvement plan on whole school literacy and reading. The successful candidate will work alongside curriculum leaders to ensure literacy is taught in all subjects.

As a key position in our School leadership team, we are looking for exceptional candidates who can lead by example and inspire subject staff to achieve their best.

  • Be a qualified Teacher of English and able to deliver up to Key Stage 5
  • Lead on the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies for reading and literacy
  • Develop and deliver staff training to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning initiatives
  • Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
  • High expectations for yourself and the Studentsensure that all of our students achieve their very best
  • An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
  • Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
