Academy Premises Manager job summary

Cirrus Primary Academy Trust seek to employ an experienced full-time (36 hours/52 weeks per year) Academy Premises Manager, the role will be based at Avenue Primary Academy.

Avenue Primary are open from 7.00 am to 18:30. You will work 36 hours per week; details of the exact working pattern will be discussed as part of the interview process.

The school is part of Cirrus Primary Academy Trust based in the London Borough of Sutton and is currently 4 forms of entry with a base provision. The school has extensive buildings and grounds, including playing fields. We strive to provide an aesthetically stimulating, nurturing environment for all our pupils and staff to learn, work, and play safely.  

Your role as an Academy Premises Manager will be varied and your approach must be flexible to accommodate the trust/school's requirements. You will have responsibility for security, monitoring, cleaning, building and maintenance. You will line manage the Premises Assistants to maintain high standards, repair, and cleanliness. You will be conscientious, dynamic and work well as part of the wider Trust Estates team. 

To be considered for this role, you will need experience and knowledge of regulatory bodies and compliance. You will be responsible for all planned maintenance, health and safety compliance, including carrying out and reviewing premises-related risk assessments and action plans. In addition, you will be an effective communicator, both written and verbal and have good negotiation skills for use when dealing with contractors. You will also be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and a good working knowledge of Every building management software would be an advantage. A good selection of DIY / Handyperson skills is essential.
