What skills and experience we're looking for

Crestwood Community School is one school, with two campuses serving central Eastleigh. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Achievement Leader to be responsible for raising standards within the school, this post is new to our structure. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking an Assistant Head role in the future. The post has a whole school brief and will be working across both campuses, developing in class and curricular strategies for underperforming groups of students.

The Line Manager for the post is Joshua Buckingham, Assistant Headteacher. With this post there will be the need for very close liaison between the Progress and Teaching and Learning Assistant Headteachers.This is a new post in our staffing structure and will sit alongside the role of other Achievement Leaders and is a senior post within the school.

Further details about the role

Duties include:

  • Working alongside the Assistant Headteacher responsible for pupil progress to formulate and implement the whole school strategy for improving the progress of Pupil Premium students, in particular those with High Prior Attainment and any other underperforming student group
  • Using rigorous analysis of student progress data, behaviour data and attendance data to inform teaching and learning strategies which support the progress of Pupil Premium students, in particular those with High Prior Attainment
  • Supporting faculties and teachers directly in the implementation of teaching and learning strategies focused on improving the progress of Pupil Premium students and PA groups
  • Coach teachers in developing their practice
  • Meeting with the Assistant Headteacher responsible for pupil progress to plan the Progress Intervention Plan (PIP) meetings
  • Attending all Progress Intervention Plan (PIP) meetings
  • Meeting with the Assistant Headteachers responsible for Teaching and Learning to help plan for the Teaching and Learning working group meetings
  • Attending all Teaching and Learning working group meetings
  • Chairing school Disadvantaged working group meetings, devising agendas and ensuring minutes are taken and shared with Core SLT
  • Attending HIAS Disadvantaged and PAPG group meetings
  • Attending relevant PiXL meetings
  • Liaising and meeting with the PiXL coordinator
  • Producing a half-termly internal report to SLT Contribute to the completion of the annual external Pupil Premium report
  • Attending Full SLT meetings
  • Attending Achievement Leader meetings
  • Along with the Assistant Headteacher responsible for pupil progress, reporting to the governing body (A&L committee) with respect to Pupil Premium Strategy
  • Teach 26/40 lessons per fortnight. Preferred subjects: Business/ ICT, Design and Technology, English, Geography, Mathematics, Science. However, any subject specialism will be considered.
