Kingswood Parks Primary School is an Ofsted rated ‘good’ school, continually striving to further improve. The school is oversubscribed and has the capacity to cater for 630 pupils with an additional 52 place Foundation 1 unit.
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant to join our dedicated support team working within our Foundation Stage Unit. The successful post holder will still be expected to fulfil the full duties and responsibilities of the post and work across the school, as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Contribute to planning and evaluation of learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress
- Support individual and small groups of children in the curriculum, to accelerate their learning
- Support the emotional, behavioural and pastoral needs of all pupils, including children with additional needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Encourages pupils to develop as independent learners with a thirst for learning
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C (or equivalent)
- Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and child development, National Curriculum, and other codes of practice e.g. SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding
- A passion for early years and a commitment to ensuring every child succeeds and reaches their potential
- Ability to interact well using courtesy, tact and diplomacy and negotiation skills
- Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues and children and young people.
- Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning
