What the school offers its staff

The Department

Broadway Academy is a thriving multi-lingual and multi-cultural community whose roots stretch to all corners of the globe. We believe languages play an important role in future careers and, through study, language students prepare themselves to contribute to the international community. Learning a language opens doors to new cultures and countries, as well as teaching self-awareness, humility and respect.

At Broadway Academy, the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department teaches French. Facilities include large, well-equipped classrooms, a dedicated space for one-to-one and small-group tuition with our foreign language assistants and access to state-of-the-art I.T facilities. All students are taught French from year 7 to year 9, developing the basic skills of language learning, alongside grammatical accuracy, listening skills and accurate pronunciation. In year 9, pupils decide whether to continue with French through to GCSE. The Academy also allows students to take a GCSE in their home language, subject to availability.

Join us and grow

You will benefit from working within a school, which encourages staff and students to be aspirational. Staff development is a priority and staff are empowered to continue their own learning. If you are keen to work in a successful and growing academy, which encourages staff to aim high in their own careers, this could be a great opportunity for you.
