What skills and experience we're looking for
Job Summary
The governors would like to appoint an administrator to support a busy office and take responsibility for some of the school's organisational functions.
This would be the ideal job for a candidate who would like to develop their skills in finance, administration and work in a school environment, term time only.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will need to be confident in the following areas:
- Good knowledge of word processing and excel skills and experience of organizing and office online systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize personnel administrative policies and procedures.
- Understanding of computerized records (SIMS), computer literacy, attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and cope under pressure.
- Knowledge of GDPR.
- Knowledge of setting up and maintaining administration of computer systems.
- Contribute to the other all ethos of the school
Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ II Business and Administration or equivalent qualification.
- GCSE grade A*-C (9-4) or equivalent in Maths and English
- Up to date knowledge of general computer packages and office equipment, eg. Microsoft Office, photocopier, fax, shredder, telephones etc.

We are a maintained nursery school which caters for children from birth to five years. We run two provisions; one is a daycare provision for birth to two years and the other is a nursery provision. We specialise in developing staff who are highly skilled in managing children with a wide range of special needs as well as mainstream pupils.
We are part of the IDEAL Federation which includes an additional nursery school and a primary school as well as a PVI nursery. We are also running the Early Years Southwest Stronger Practice Hub for the southwest region.
We work closely with Plymouth Local Authority and manage the Speech and Language Education Team for the city through a service level agreement.
