St. Martin's CE Primary Academy is a diverse and happy school serving children from across the city of Salisbury. The children are known locally for their inclusive approach to fellow pupils , and their positive behaviour. The school itself has been on a recent and rapid journey of improvement. Since April 2024, a new Executive Headteacher, Head of School, SENDCo and Deputy Headteacher have been appointed by the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust. The Executive Headteacher, Ollie Martindale, also leads at St. Peter's CE Primary Academy and the two settings work very closely on all areas of school improvement. The successful candidate would join an already committed, vibrant staffing team at a very exciting time: we are firmly on a journey to a positive OFSTED inspection.
St Martin’s Primary school are looking for a friendly and effective person to join our Office as the primary Admin Officer. As the first point of contact to parents and visitors entering the school, a professional yet approachable manner is essential.
As the school’s Admin Officer, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the school office, under the direction of the School Business Manager.
Main duties will include:
- Answering/making telephone calls
- Monitoring of the admin email inbox, responding to queries in a timely manner
- Monitoring and tracking attendance
- Assisting with stationary ordering
- Maintaining records
- Assisting with the organisation of trips
- Liaising with other areas of the education sector, including Wiltshire Council
The work is incredibly varied and the role will encompass many different skills. Therefore, you will need to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and be able to prioritise effectively.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is well organised
- Is confident in working independently and works well within the larger team
- Is able to prioritise effectively
- Is friendly and welcoming
- Has good levels of spoken and written English
- Has good use of IT systems
- Has experience of working in a school or busy office, although training will be given on school specific systems
The successful candidate will be required to work 35hours per week (8.30am - 4pm) Monday-Friday, term time only (This equates to 0.79 FTE).
