Administration Officer job summary

All about the role:

We are looking for a warm, friendly person to join us at Wilton CE Primary School. You will usually be the first person people see when they visit our school and therefore it is essential you will reflect our school’s warm, family-feel ethos and our values.

The main job purpose is to support the smooth running of the school office, including general administrative duties including maintenance of manual and computerised records/management systems, and the undertaking of specific and varied duties that support the day to day administrative operations of the school such as checking registers and ensuring absences are followed up.

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated and self-sufficient person who is very well organised and with a can-do attitude. We are looking for people who have the following experience and qualities:

  • Excellent knowledge of general computer packages and office equipment e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook, photocopier, telephones etc
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to exchange information with a range of audiences (e.g. staff, children, parents and others)
  • Previous experience of working in a school, whilst not essential, is desirable
  • Previous school administration and experience in using a school information management system would be ideal, but is not essential.
  • Ability to manage the school diary.
  • Knowledge and experience of running social media pages, or the willingness to learn.

Hours of work: 27 hours per week to include every morning and 1 afternoon. Exact days and times are open to negotiation,
