Administration- Receptionist (SCP 3) job summary

Job Brief

Hours of work

37 hours per week, 195 working days per year (term time plus 5 INSET days)

8.00am to 4.00 pm Monday to Thursday

8.00am to 3.30 pm Friday

The above times include a 30 minute unpaid lunch break

Purpose

Your role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the reception and guest areas, ensuring all visitors/guests are greeted in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner whilst supporting the efficient and effective running of school administration

Responsibilities

  • To act as the first point of contract for the school

  • Provide a warm, professional and courteous welcome to all visitors

  • Ensure the safety and security of reception ensuring entry to premises are controlled

  • Ensure that all guests/visitors have the appropriate identification to access site

  • Ensure that Reception and Staff Room is maintained and welcoming

  • Working both independently and effectively as part of the Administrative Team to provide an excellent reception and administrative support service

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and transfer or take messages as appropriate

  • Sorting and distribution of the external mail

  • To order stationery for staff and ensure general stationery is available in the stationery cupboard
