A warm welcome to all visiting our school website.
We are a village school near Otley and Ilkley with a core purpose of providing excellence for all within a happy, calm and caring environment. Our strong family ethos is reflected in how our pupils show care and concern for each other. Our pupils make a strong start to their education which they build upon as they move through the school; expectations and standards are high for all pupils. Not surprisingly, our school has been consistently judged ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED.
We strongly believe that our safe, well-structured learning culture, which promotes a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle, has developed from strong partnerships between parents, staff and governors.

We are totally committed to continually improving teaching and learning across a broad and balanced curriculum; fostering our pupils’ personal development and love of learning is our passion and in recognition of our long-term success, we became one of the first cohort of National Teaching Schools in September 2011.
On the 1st August 2015, Askwith Primary School converted to an academy and was one of the three founding members of Yorkshire Collaborative Academy Trust with Harrogate Bilton Grange and Lothersdale Primary School. Further details are provided on the YCAT website.
A large proportion of our pupils come from beyond our catchment area. Prospective parents are very welcome to contact the school office for further information, to arrange a ‘COVID safe’ tour of the school or to discuss your child’s needs.
