Our Opportunities
Friarage School looking to appoint a dedicated ATA’s from November 2021. Depending on the post you will primarily deliver upper key stage 2 (year 6 pupils).
The post is initially fixed term from November 2021 until July 2022 initially.
Our support staff are highly regarded and we pride ourselves on developing our support colleagues to excel and further develop their career through specialised training and career paths through to ATA, HLTA status and teacher training.
We encourage applications from candidates who have a passion for education and wish to work in a setting which offers reward and challenge and where no two days are the same.

For some posts, the successful candidates must hold English and Maths GCSE level ‘C’ or above or equivalent. While each post is different we are looking for the following for all posts.

You will:
• Ideally have previous experience in working with children and young people (Essential for the ATA post)
• Be able to support pupils in the inclusion unit (Essential for the ATA post)
• Be supportive, nurturing and understanding
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
• Work well as part of a team
• Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and in writing.

Minimum requirements:
• Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Passion and enthusiasm for working with children
• Good teaching skills and behaviour management strategies
• Show initiative and flexibility
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven experience within a similar position
• Current DBS on the update service or willing to complete a new DBS
