What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our team!

This role will see you working in Key Stage Two on Mondays, and EYFS / KS1 on Fridays. This is ideal for candidates who want to develop experience working in different key stages as part of their own skillset and career progression, or those who simply enjoy variety.

This role also includes Midday Supervisory Assistant duties. You will ensure that our pupils safely enjoy their lunch and playtime.

Key Duties

  • Support engaging lessons and activities alongside the class teacher
  • Deliver support to individuals and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher to maximise progress
  • Monitor pupil development and provide clear, timely feedback
  • Help prepare an organised, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team
  • Take part in training and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

You will have:

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum English and maths skills at level 2/ GCSE Pass
  • Appropriate experience working with children in an education setting
  • Good understanding of child/ young people’s development and learning processes
  • Understanding of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children and young people
  • Understanding of individual children and young people’s needs
  • An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice
  • Ability to work successfully in a team

A musical talent would be very desirable but not essential. Our Choir are going from strength to strength, so it would be wonderful for you to be able to support in this area!
