Advanced Teaching Assistant - Northstead Community Primary School, Scarborough job summary

Fixed term contract (initially until 31st August 2020 due to funding but may be extended)

30 hours per week, term time only – Grade D (Salary given is full time equivalent).

8:30am – 12:00pm and 12:30 – 3pm.

Start date to be confirmed at interview.

Our opportunity
Through funding provided by the North Yorkshire Coast Opportunity Area we are looking to appoint a colleague to join us as our ‘Advanced Teaching Assistant’ and help deliver our Read Write INC programme across school.

We encourage applications from candidates who have a passion for primary education, experience of delivering the Read, Write Inc programme and wish to work in a setting which offers reward and challenge and where no two days are the same.

You will:
• Have previous experience in this type of role or with children and young people
in a primary setting.
• Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for all pupils. Experience of delivering Read Write INC is advantageous.
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children
• Be supportive, nurturing and understanding
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
• Work well as part of a team
• Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and in writing.

This is a fixed term post starting as soon as possible and will be initially until August 2020.

The successful candidate must hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
