After School Club Assistant job summary

The After School Club runs two sessions: 3:15pm - 4:30pm and from 3:15pm - 6:00pm. Part of your role will require you to prepare snacks and drinks for the children and to engage with them through structured play or learning activities. You will also be responsible for liaising with the DSL for any safeguarding concerns. The role requires you to be first aid trained which will be provided for you shoudl you require it.

The successful candidate will therefore be:

  • Enthusiastic, approachable, friendly and positive about their role
  • Committed to supporting, motivating and challenging the learning of the children
  • Able to work effectively, flexibly and independently
  • Can show initiative and creativity in different learning situations
  • Passionate about children's learning and well-being
  • Keen to support the ethos of the school
