What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a caring and creative person to support children in our after school club which runs Monday-Friday from 3:10-5:10pm. The role involves:

  • Preparing a simple snack for the children
  • Setting up games and a range of activities for the children to engage in
  • Supporting children with homework and/or reading
  • Providing support and care for the children to emulate a home style environment whilst maintaining appropriate behaviours.
  • Recording and providing first aid (where applicable)
  • Maintaining good relationship with parents.

The school has benefitted recently from significant investment from the Diocese to expand and improve the school building and grounds. We have a very experienced and friendly team of staff and governors.

A first aid qualification would be an advantage but is not essential as we can arrange training if required

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.

The role is covered by part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

The school received an excellent Ofsted report in July 2022 where the school was judged to be 'Good' with Personal Development and Early Years Provision being judged to be 'Outstanding'.

We are awaiting a SIAMs inspection where we hope to retain our Outstanding/Excellent grading.
