What skills and experience we're looking for
St James’ CE Primary School is a happy and healthy place to achieve and believe. It’s also a happy and healthy place to work. We have a vacancy for an after school club manager to join our expanding Fun Club provision.
You will have the overall responsibility for the day to day operation of our growing Out of School Club provision. Your role will include working with a small team of playworkers to ensure the safe supervision of our children in a fun and engaging setting, providing high quality childcare and engaging children with varied, creative and age appropriate activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining registers/sending out invoices for the after school provision to our parents/carers, as well as ordering the food and monitoring stock supplies.
Ideally you will hold a Level 3 qualification in Playwork or Childcare, and experience of out of school clubs or childcare is preferred. You will be a highly motivated individual, and should be able to effectively supervise children independently and as part of a team. We want someone who demonstrates personal qualities of dedication, patience, flexibility and humour. They will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as respond quickly to the changing needs of the school and individual children.
20 hours per week (2pm – 6pm) will be carrying out Fun Club Manager duties.
In addition, there are two optional, additional roles:
- 5 hours per week (1pm – 2pm) will be working as a general Teaching Assistant.
- 5 hours per week (12pm – 1pm) will be working as a Lunchtime Assistant.

The post is term time only and will be for 20 - 30 hours per week. There will be a 6-month probationary period.
