After School Club Play Assistant job summary
In September 2024 we opened our own Wrap Around Care Provision running both breakfast and after school club.
Since opening on 3rd September, we have provided before and after school care for over 1696 children. The high levels of uptake means we now require a number of new play workers to support our existing team.
We are looking for staff who love to play with children and want to provide children with a kind and caring environment. You must be a good team player and an excellent communicator.
The post would suit someone who has already worked in Wrap Around Care or has worked as an LSA, sports coach or someone who has a desire to work with children. We can promise you a positive working environment that is well resourced, a supportive team and excellent children.
We require 3 members of staff to join our Manager and Deputy Manager to stay until 6:00pm each evening. There may be the possibly to finish earlier on some evenings. Unlike many after school club roles the contact will be for a fixed number of hours each week and there may be the opportunity to combine this role with an LSA position for the right candidate.
We want our after school club to not only provide essential child care for our parents, but to provide our children with a homely environment where they can relax after school. Our children also like to try and learn new things and have people to chat to.
Our provision covers pupils from ages 3 -11, so experience of working with children at either end of the age spectrum would be advantageous.
Full training will be provided and you will be expected to complete now only statutory safeguarding training but also first aid and food hygiene. Candidates with relevant child care qualifications are level 2 or 3 would actively be encouraged to apply.
Our provision provides a vital service to our children and families and as such we need the right people to help it continue to grow.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children
You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
