What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic person, to facilitate our new after school club provision starting in September 2025. The role will include setting up games and activities and engaging with children to ensure play is positive and enriching. During the club, children are also offered a snack and staff will be expected to make, serve and supervise this.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Supervision, organisation and safeguarding (including first aid and food hygiene) of children at after school club

  • Set up, organise, manage and clear away resources and materials

  • Organise and be active in developing interactive activities for the children during play and ensuring children are positively engaging in play.

  • Encourage and facilitate positive social experiences for children.

  • To assist as required to ensure a calm, clean environment in the after school club room.

The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs, different personalities and interests of the children. We are looking for a team member who can:

  • Exhibit a calm and reassuring manner

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

  • Actively engage with pupils within activities.

  • Be passionate about making a difference to every child.

  • Value a team working approach and be keen to contribute and share your skills with colleagues

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build on and maintain strong relationships with the school community

  • Be punctual and reliable

  • Bring ideas and direction to develop the quality of the after school club.
