What skills and experience we're looking for
We are a small but growing Multi-Academy Trust with five schools based in Colchester and Manningtree. We are dynamic, innovative and highly successful. The Trust has a small central team of finance and HR staff who work in collaboration with teams in our schools to deliver finance and payroll on behalf of the Trust. The post is based in the Alpha Trust offices on the site of Colchester County High School for Girls.
The main duties of the role include:
- To support the CFOO with the financial, administrative and operational aspects of the Trust
- To contribute to the effective and efficient on-boarding of a new secondary school to the Trust
- To compile a procedural handbook for the on-boarding process of a new school to the Trust
- To run the procurement process for the Trust’s project management/quality assurance provider and the external auditors under the direction of the CFOO
- In line with the DfE calendar, identify all submission deadline dates and, under the direction of the CFOO, prepare and complete the submissions
- Attend and participate in meetings as required
- To work collaboratively with colleagues in the Trust and in its academies
- The duties above are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required by the CFOO to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the role, skills and grade
We are looking for a candidate who has relevant finance and operations experience. In addition, our successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Good numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to meet deadlines and to prioritise competing tasks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable, with an ability to complete a high and demanding workload in a timely and professional manner

Colchester County High School for Girls is part of Alpha Trust. It is a selective state school for academically able students aged from 11 to 18 years which consistently achieves public examination results at the highest level and Ofsted "Outstanding".
